bob akers is a native of south florida who schooled in north carolina and resides in west virginia. he holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and a master's in business administration.

a creative individual, bob is constantly plagued with project ideas. he finds enjoyment in graphics, software, and website development, and considers any weekend a fulfilling one if it involves a few hours thus spent. his challenge is focusing on projects with redeeming value, and part of the reason behind dreamhatch.org is to provide an outlet for such projects.

it was union mission ministries in charleston that brought bob to west virginia in 2004. after five years of service, bob stepped down as vice president of development in 2009. during his time there, bob was often frustrated by the lack of affordable software to meet the specific needs of social services agencies. while in the mission's employ, bob laid the groundwork for the case management and gift-in-kind software later made available through philanthroware.org.

these days, bob works on an entirely freelance basis. between that work and the projects already represented through dreamhatch.org and its sister sites, bob has only a little time to take on new pro bono projects... but if you have any ideas, he's always interested in hearing them...
